CITY TOURS: In
Salta, nature constitutes an
explosion of colors that multiply
in hills and ravines. However, not
only is it a city offering nature
to enjoy, but it is also tinged
with history; more history than
most of the rest of Argentine
cities. It was one of the first
settlements to be founded, and the
chosen home of affluent families
related to Alto Perú. This is the
reason its streets are a true
treasure, crowded with colonial
constructions, churches and
monuments.
You will go sightseeing the
streets of this thriving city full
of colorful gardens and fragrant
tress. You will revive the
colonial past in the architecture
of its historical Cabildo (town
hall), the cathedral and old
huoses. the, we could observe from
the "Cerro San Bernardo"
(St Bernard Hill) a panoramic view
of de city.
Then a few kilometers away, betwen
green mountains and crystal water
rivers there is San Lorenzo, a
summer town of old trees and
flowery gardens, with large
mansions, picture hills and smooth
hillocks. An ideal place to enjoy
long walks, horse riding and
picnic refreshments. Coming back,
On your way back, you will make
the insurmountable stop at the
Mercado Artesanal (handcrafts
market), where you will not resist
the variety of souvenirs in
display they offer, you ^ll be
able to buy pieces of tapestry,
pottery and leather crafts.

Cachi -
Passing over Cuesta del Obispo in the first stage. After a 20 km climb (approx. 1200 m), we reach the summit at Piedra del Molino (3400m), from where we start descending towards Cachi (2280), going through the curious straight asphalt route known as 'Recta de Tintín'.
Cachi, wrapped in multicoloured sierras and blessed by the Calchaquí River, Cachi is a balsam to the spirit. Located 157 kilometres away from the City of Salta, and 165 from Cafayate, it is a picturesque town of narrow pitted streets, in the middle of a valley of fertile lands and surrounded by alfalfa and red pepper plantations, which, when drying in the sunshine, constitute a flashy and colourful scenery.
One of the main attractions is the Museo Arqueológico, located at the Cacique Juan Calchaquí street, which opens Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Pottery objects made by the ancient Pulare people, who inhabited the region before the Spaniards, can be admired. It is facing the plaza as is usual in an urban layout of colonial style. Its construction began in the middle of the 18th century, and was the private prayer chapel of the Aramburu family during those years. Father De la Zerda had its façade refurbished around 1884. The façade we currently know is from 1947.

Humahuaca Gorge.
This excursion will not only take you to know a landscape that will stay in your memory forever, but also it will make you live one of the most impressive experiences of your life. Not by coincidence the Gorge of Humahuaca was declared "World Heritage Site" in 2003 in the category "Cultural Landscape" by UNESCO. Ten thousand years of history are still alive in this spectacular valley of 155 kilometers in length, that allows the transit through the high and inaccessible Andean Puna.
To visit today Tumbaya, Purmamarca, Maimará, Tilcara and others of those typical towns is to feel like part of a millenarian history, is to enter in a different time.
In crossing by these towns you will visit the ‘Pucará de Tilcara’ and its Archaeological Museum. In Uquía, the typical church and in Purmamarca, the Hill of the Seven Colors. When arriving at Humahuaca you will get to know the Independence Monument and the Church, besides taking a walk by its narrow and stoned streets, with lights and houses made of mud and straw, impeccable sample of the colonial time, at which it was one of the most important commercial centers of this route.
